Arguendo is the online companion to
The George Washington Law Review and marks the next step in the
Law Review’s growth as a legal periodical.
It was developed and launched by the Volume 78 Editorial Board, with the goal of contributing to the evolution of online legal scholarship and reaching a broader audience than a traditional print journal.
Arguendo debuts timely and topical essays and book reviews. This allows authors to disseminate their work quickly—pursuant to an expedited editing process—while also receiving a traditional print citation.
In addition to serving as an online venue for publication, Arguendo is a one-stop destination for critical information about the Law Review. For example, updates about Law Review-sponsored events, such as symposia, are accessible through Arguendo. The site also features archived issues of the Law Review, available at no charge. The electronic archive currently dates back to 2007, and we are in the process of expanding to include content from prior issues of the journal.
The Law Review encourages all authors—professors, scholars, practitioners, and law students—to submit their manuscripts to Arguendo. Arguendo primarily seeks pieces that are lightly footnoted and no longer than 10,000 words; however, because the site’s goal is to advance legal scholarship, all submissions are considered, even if they exceed these preferred constraints. Given Arguendo’s expedited publication process, ideal submissions are timely, cogent, and well-reasoned. Manuscripts selected for publication are edited and posted to the site on a rolling basis.
Submissions should be sent electronically either by clicking here or by emailing the Online Articles Editor at tyeh@law.gwu.edu.
Thank you for visiting Arguendo and for your interest in The George Washington Law Review.
